Texture Mapping is a 40-page publication exploring overlaps between graphic design and cartography, including an analysis of design work through cartographic impulses, an examination of the practice of creating fictional landscapes, and a look at the idea of navigating textural microcosms encapsulated within the surface of design.
Topics briefly touched on include video game interfaces, Google Earth, Tarkovsky's Stalker, British folk music, Photoshop layers, and the mythology of Detroit. There's also a lot of drawing of little trucks and buildings and stuff.
I printed this in the old-fashioned zine way at Kinkos and stapled it together, in an initial print run of 5 copies. It comes with a set of Streeting Design postcards. Hooray!
